The 1905 Gordon Bennett Cup race was held on severe mountanous roads in the French Auvergne. On 5 July 1905, four laps of each 137 km were to be driven, making a total distance of 550 km. Winner was Léon Théry on a Richard-Brasier; his second consecutive cup victory. Clifford Earp in a Napier was second; Camille jenatzy on a Mercedes came in third. This was the last and final Gordon Bennet Cup race, the world would whitness.
