From 1911 on, the Vanderbilt Cup moved from Nassau County in Long Island to several different locations. While sanctioned by the AAA, the Vanderbilt Cup was alo linked to the Grand Prize. The latter would run maximal three days after the Vanderbilt Cup race each year. In 1911, both took place on the Savannah Road Course. In 1912, they moved to the Milwaukee Wauwatosa Road Course. 1914 the Santa Monica Road Course hosted both events. In 1915 the San Franciscan Panama-Pacific International Exposition was the theatrical backgound of both races. Finally in 1916 they returned to Santa Monica.
