In 1910, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway had it’s brickyard, which was laid in the last part of 1909. Bricking the Yard was a good decision. And in 1910, a similar series of last year’s many short races was organised; now without any catastrophy like last year. Event data were May 27-30, , July 2-4 and September 3-5. At stake stood the Prest-O-Lite, Wheeler-Schebler and Remy-Brassard trophies, as well as several 50- and 100-mile races. But finally, the public’s interest waned. That made the IMS management to rethink their race set up, leading to the announcement after 1910’s last race, that for the next year, only one large international race over 500 miles would be organised and, what’s more, with a huge sum of prize money available, to attract more race drivers.
