The 1925  Grand Prix season was the first for the Manufacturer’s Championship AIACR. The four most important ones: the Belgian GP, for the first time at Spa-Francorchamps; the French GP on the new Monthléry circuit near Paris; the Italian GP at Monza and the Indianapolis 500-mile Sweepstakes. The Belgian GP was a complete disappointment, as only seven cars competed. Antonio Ascari in an Alfa-Romeo won this race. In the French GP though, he sadly lost his life. As the Italian GP was won (again) by Alfa-Romeo, they clinched the 1925 manufacturers‘ championship.
