The Pre-war era covers the years 1894 – 1915. Drivers of that era were contestants of the very first city-to-city races, the Gordon Bennett races, Vanderbilt Cup races and the pre-war Grands Prix.
Starting with madame Camille Du Gast from Belgium (participated in the 1903 Paris-Madrid), then ranging over drivers like the Belgian Camille Jenatzy (winner of the 1903 Gordon Bennett Cup race), the Hungarian Ferenc Szisz (winner of the 1906 French Grand Prix), Victor Héméry (winner of the 1905 Vanderbilt Cup race), Leon Théry (winner of the 1904 and 1905 Gordon Bennett Cup races), George Boillot (winner of the 1912 and 1913 French Grand Prix), Jules Goux /winner of the 1913 Indianapolis), the German Christian Lautenschlager (winner of the 1914 French Grand Prix) through the Italian Felice Nazarro (winner of the 1907 French Grand Prix).
