The 1901 Paris – Berlin race was held on 27 – 29 June 1901. It was laid out over a distance of about 1200 kilometers, to be competed in three sections; paris-Aachen, Aachen-Hannover and hannover-berlin. The start of the 110 competing cars and 10 motorcycles was in the early hours, before sunrise. It was won by Henri Fournier in a Mors. Totalling time was 13 hours and 33 minutes, thereby averaging some 77 kmh. Second and third were Panhard-Levassors, both about 1 hour in arrears.
